There was no moon
No stars
No light at the end
No tight embrace with a long lost friend
No hope of getting back to where I was
I was still in my tracks
I was lost in my cause
Any joy I tried to muster up was full of remorse
I was blocked at every turn
Surrounded by walls
I was a prisoner of my own accord
But that light I was searching for engulfed me like a flame
It was my long lost friend
My scapegoat of blame
My tracks have been cleared

I wrote a poem

Thou art my love forever lord
Thou art my love forever
From that day that we lay in the grass together
With your stream by my side
My heart is open so wide
To be taught and loved by you
All that you do is great
In you I trust my fate
I know I’m safe
I know I’m home
In your lord I trust alone
Please carry me when I’m feeling down
That I wouldn’t fall upon the ground
But lifted high in your mighty eyes
Because lord I see the prize
Your love and your wisdom just flows through me
Making me the man you want me to be
The power of your holy spirit and your praise
resonates in my soul for days
And when I feel a tiny lack of you
I lift my arms and you come through
So strong so powerful so true
Lord all I need to do
Is simply speak of you
And there you are where you’ve always been
My lord
My love
It’s you I dream
And I can speak
I can pray that you will reveal my way
Through hard times and times when I feel far from you
But I’ll anchor myself at your feet
Be the one who will not retreat
When I’m stuck in trials I’ll focus on you
Because lord I know you will come through
When I’m weak you are strong
Pick me up by the hand and carry me along
So lord I lay my life down at your feet
And look forward to the day that you will greet
Me with open arms
Lord I know I am free
as we’re shaded by the trees
Next to the field we first lay
On that amazing day
That I gave my life to you and changed all I do
To praise and worship you
So lord use me so
That forever people will know
What you do
Who you are
Because lord even when we come from far
You know that one day it will be true
That we will be right here next to you
Feeling the love and the peace
That is so undoubtably you
